UNECE’s work on sustainable energy is designed to improve access to affordable and clean energy for all and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon footprint of the energy sector in the region. It promotes international policy dialogue and cooperation among governments, energy industries and other stakeholders.  The focus  is on energy efficiency, cleaner electricity production from fossil fuels, renewable energy, coal mine methane, natural gas, classification of energy and mineral reserves and resources, and energy security.  Read more

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21) are pleased to invite you to actively contribute to the upcoming publication, the REN21 UNECE Renewable Energy Status Report 2017.

The UNECE Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Status Report 2017 Report  will provide a comprehensive overview of the current status of renewable energy and energy efficiency trends in the following 17 selected countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Montenegro, Russian Federation, Serbia, Tajikistan, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

The latest draft of this upcoming REN21 UNECE Renewable Energy Status Report 2017 is now available for public consultation and we invite experts to provide their comments.
